University of Sussex Vice Chancellor visits Biaco

Professor Sasha Roseneil, Vice Chancellor and President of the University of Sussex, visited Biaco on 27 August 2025, accompanied by members of the University’s sustainability team. Over the past two years, the University’s Life Sciences Department has provided significant support to Biaco, and the University is also a shareholder in the company. During the visit, Professor Roseneil expressed how impressed she was by the technology and shared her excitement that the University has been involved at such an early stage of Biaco’s development.

The visit was also attended by members of the scientific, sustainability and business development teams who have been working with Biaco for the past three years. These included Dr John Turner (Associate Professor, Inorganic Physical Chemistry), Professor Mark Bagley (Professor of Organic Chemistry), Professor Cyril Crua (Professor of Engineering), Kate Thorpe (Head of Business Development), Matt Montgomery (Head of Sustainability), and Dr Nourhan Hendawy (Postdoctoral plasma scientist).
