Biaco is based in West Sussex, UK.
Funded by a loyal core of shareholders, Biaco has developed and patented a novel technology that generates high-grade heat at high efficiency from a plasma reaction in water. Its research and development team are working to develop and commercialise the technology, generating a patent portfolio including four granted patents and over 100 inventions.
Biaco employs a team of 17 people and collaborates with several universities and consultants.
Ian Kershaw
Chair

Ian has decades of experience in automotive, engineering and manufacturing. He has held MD and Chair roles with Ricardo UK and Coryton, and currently holds Non-Executive Director roles with a range of technology SMEs and advisory roles with Innovate UK and the European Central Bank. Ian will lead the Board to transition Biaco technology from lab prototype to commercial product.
Andrew Atkins
CTO

Andy is a Chartered Engineer (FIET, FIMechE) and Visiting Professor at the Universities of Portsmouth, Sussex and Loughborough. He brings extensive experience in developing and commercialising advanced engineering solutions, with particular expertise in intellectual property strategy and protection.
Andy has held senior roles as a Global Technologist with Ricardo plc and Siemens, where he led innovation at the intersection of science and industry. With a broad, interdisciplinary background spanning physics, engineering and chemistry, he combines technical depth with commercial insight, enabling him to bring Biaco technology to market.
Rob Wright
COO

Rob is an experienced project manager who has led multimillion dollar projects delivering diverse capabilities and solutions across automotive and defense industries. His previous roles include Project Director for major Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), including Northop Grumman, Thales and CAE.
Leigh Harrison
CFO

Leigh Harrison is a highly experienced Finance Director and CFO with over 30 years of international leadership across finance, strategy and corporate development. He has a strong track record in private equity-backed, international manufacturing and high-growth environments and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.
Keith Miller
Non Executive Director

Keith is an entrepreneur with over 30 years’ experience across a wide range of energy technologies. His work spans offshore wind, tidal and wave energy, nuclear waste management, thermal insulation, energy storage, geothermal energy, ocean thermal energy conversion, and both nuclear fusion and fission.
